Swiftkey Keyboard Now Free

One of the more popular keyboards available on android is now free, with it’s latest update. Swiftkey has been downloaded over 1,000,000 times, and is very well rated by users. For those who haven’t tried it, basically you swipe your finger around the keyboard, pausing at letters, and the app uses predictive technology to suggest words before you complete typing.

I never used it before myself, and decided since it’s free now to give it a try.  Right away the word prediction seemed very good, and it is supposed to get better over time.  The swiping takes a little getting used to, but it becomes very natural after a short time.  Overall I will say it is definitely worth trying out.

There are several free themes available, and also some paid ones.  For those who had already purchased the app, Swiftkey is giving them a “premier pack” of themes, which is available to new users for $4.99.  There will also be a Swiftkey Store, with keyboard customizations available both paid and free, and regular updates are promised.
