New Amazon Tablets on the Way?

Several sources suggest Amazon will be expanding it’s tablet lineup this fall. The next Kindle Fires will reportedly come in 3 flavors. The basic model will sport a 1024 x 600 screen, without any camera. The next version will have a better screen resolution of 1280 x 800, along with a camera. Finally, the top tier will have 4G capability added.  One possibility is that the screen ratio may be changed.  What type of processor used is unclear, but an Nvidia Tegra3 seems likely.  Pricing for the tablets is also something not known yet, but the $199 Nexus has to impact Amazon’s pricing .   With the Google Nexus 7 making the current Kindle fire look somewhat weak when comparing hardware, it makes sense the new devices would be at least somewhat competitive, specification-wise, to the Nexus.  Other rumors say Amazon is still working on a 10.1 inch tablet, possibly by year’s end.  And there continue to be some vague rumblings of a 8.9 inch device.  Amazon has also been said to have a smartphone in the works.  Looks like they are going to be very busy this year!
