Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

The Galaxy Tab 2 gives Samsung yet another tablet in it’s ever-increasing array of offerings. The most significant feature of this latest tablet is probably the price-$250. Samsung achieves this lower price by reducing some features. Onboard storage is 8GB, while the dual-core processor runs at 1GHZ, down from 1.2GHZ in the previous Tab 7.0 Plus. The front camera is also of lower resolution, and now the rear one has no flash.  However, Samsung didn’t release this to compete with itself, it is looking at both the Amazon Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet.  For $50 more, the Tab 2 offers more features than either of those, including Bluetooth and GPS.

Whether or not buyers will choose an android tablet with a few more features over the popular Fire remains to be seen.  Many users seem to like the Fire and Nook Tablet for the ease of their UI, compared to the Tab’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
