At the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei showed off their latest tablet, the Mediapad FHD. The 10.1″ screen device is a very strong new iPad competitor. The resolution of 1920×1200 puts it only slightly behind the new iPad’s 2048×1536. With 2GB of ram, it has double what any other tablet available contains. The processor is a quad-core, 1.5GHz Huawei chip, and it comes with 8GB storage plus something no Apple device has, an sd card slot. With both an 8 and 1.3 megapixel cameras, somehow it weighs less than the iPad3(or new iPad, or whatever it’s called), and is thinner.
Not known right now are pricing, or availability. Supposedly it will ship before June , and come with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. If it works as well as it’s specifications suggest, with the right pricing it could be a significant player in the tablet market.
