For those owners of the Notion Ink Adam who don’t want to wait for an fully working release of Ice Cream Sandwich, a pre-alpha build has been made available. The download, with instructions, is available at: http://conclave.notionink.com/showthread.php?1173-ICS-Android-4.0-alpha-Download-and-Installation . Installation involves first flashing a custom recovery(thanks to DJ_Steve for the recovery image), then using the custom recovery to flash the actual rom. Since this is a pre-alpha release, there are some significant bugs, with one of the biggest being lack of audio. The rom comes with a minimal number of apps, but you can add Gapps by downloading from http://www.mediafire.com/?1l4ravroiwt4ybw . Copy the zip to your sd card, then boot the Adam into recovery, and use the option to select zip from sd card to install it.
For an early build, it already seems very impressive. Boot time is only about 40 seconds to get to the lock screen. GPS, hardware acceleration, wifi, and accelerometer all work well. Sound, bluetooth, usb flash drives, 3G, camera, and a few other features are not yet operational. While not a daily driver, this does give users a taste of what ICS can do. Web browsing, using Dolphin Beta for Pads, is very fast and smooth. Screen transitions are quick, and the tablet seems overall much faster. There is the occasional hiccup, to be expected from such an early version. But it looks like a very good start from the team of Rayman, Mrdeadlocked, Notion Ink, and everyone else who worked on the project. Adam owners will anxiously await further updates, but at least they can play with this for a while.

The Google apps isn’t working for me, it gets stuck at the terminal screen before it hits the android logo
