Toshiba Thrive Sleep Fix, Google Search For Tablets

Toshiba announced they will be sending out an OTA update next week to resolve the sleep bug . The bug, which has affected nearly every Tegra2 device, prevents waking up from sleep mode. Some users had to do a full reboot, while a smaller number needed to remove and reinstall the battery to bring it back to life. The update will be available through Toshiba’s Service Station app, which is preloaded. The update also promises to have some multimedia playback enhancements.

Google has decided that their standard search page wasn’t good enough for tablets, so if you use Google, as most of us do, you will see some changes.  The results page has removed all the items which used to be on the left-hand side.  There is now a Search button on the top left, which will give options for images, videos, news, etc. when pressed.  There are 2 buttons on the top right, an Any Time one, which sorts results by age, and an All Results one, which has several options to filter your results. Also, when you search images, previews are  larger, and you can continuously scroll down.  Not really anything earthshaking, but it is okay.
