RaYmAn’s Honeycomb Breakthrough
By Will765 On 19 Jul, 2011 At 01:26 PM | Categorized As Featured | With 7 Comments

TR Elite Team member RaYmAn has announced his initial success in getting unmodified HC to run on the Adam. Current HC roms are using the 2.6.32 linux kernel, which is actually the one used for android 2.2, Froyo. Honeycomb was written to run with kernel version 2.6.36. Without the source code for HC, developers were forced to find creative ways to make functions of the tablet work, with a kernel they had the drivers, etc. for. As of now, while wifi, fully accelerated graphics, and several other functions work, RaYmAn has stated he still needs to write the drivers for touchscreen, gps, accelerometer, and other functions. When complete, this should be as good as the HC version on any tablet that comes with it preloaded. Don’t forget to thank RaYmAn, and all our developers, by donating to the beer(or pepsi) fund.
