Rooting your Adam
1. Download the .rar file below for your Adam.
2. Extract the contents of the .rar file (2 files) and place them on your Fat 32 Formatted MicroSD card.
3. Insert your SD Card into your ADAM
4. Power Down your Adam.
5. Press and hold the Vol+ and simultaneously press the power
6. If the device auto updates it will quickly install and restart. (If not move to step 6.)
7. Highlight and select update.zip from external SD (use the volume up and down to navigate and power to select)

Question: Will this update prevent my device from being over the air (OTA) updated?
Answer: We designed this hack to be as friendly as possible and it should not interfere with your OTA updates.
Question: Will I lose my root when I run the OTA update from the manufacture?
Answer: Its very probable that you will lose root and have to reapply this hack after the update.
Question: Will this violate my warranty?
Answer: Notion Ink has publicly stated that they have not denied a single claim because of root.

Answer: The Notion Ink Adam is nearly impossible to damage from flashing, but over clocking and other activities can cause damage.
Question: What is the advantage of rooting my device?
Answer: There are many advantages including under-clocking the device to save battery life and being able to make full backups.

Hi I lost the android market after notion ink ota update on may 31. Surprisingly certain market apps remained. Can I still use this hack to get market back?

Hi,
After applying the latest notion ota update on May 31, I applied the hack to get the market back on my adam.
I have a pixel qi wifi model, the market won’t let me sign in to my google account(it displays “this phone may not be equipped for data services”).
Any help in getting the market working again on my adam would be appreciated.

Visit the forums there is a setting that is disabled called enable background data that needs to be enabled, sounds like this is disabled by default in Notion Inks latest update. Our hack should still be ok from what I have read so far.
