Description: CWM 5.0.2.8 from CM, used source from scanno. Patched, now it boots directly into CWM so no stale boot. This CWM verison will be on all future HoneyIce ROM's.
How to install: Find this out yourself Just for experience people, the rest wait for HoneyIce

    Areo
    Im testing this on the base VegaComb9n update3 . . .

I was going to use adb to install, but for some reason adb does not work. The drivers are installed via audi but adb errors device not found . . . Modstock v2 adb drivers working ok . . . if i can get the adb to work, i could have done it via -

    adb push recovery.img /data/local/
    adb push flash_image /data/local/
    adb shell chmod 4755 /data/local/flash_image
    adb shell /data/local/flash_image recovery /data/local/recovery.img

i used a terminal emulator instead and performed the ff -

    su -
    cp /mnt/sdcard/recovery.img /data/local/
    cp /mnt/sdcard/flash_image /data/local/
    cd /data/local
    chmod 4755 flash_image
    flash_image recovery recovery.img
    exit
    exit

press power button, and then recovery . . . it booted to the bluish cwm recovery 5028! No stale boot!

Scanno and Areo . . . thanks for this. Question for scanno, the updated version in OP, does it have the patch Areo made so that it will not stale boot? Thanks!

What do you mean with this? This recovery is included in the nvflash of vegaics by cass and will also be included in the next honeyice nvflash.
The squashfs filesystem is not a "real" filesystem. Just have a look at vegaics. In the /system dir (which is the mounted system partition) you will see a couple of .sfs files. One of them is libs.sfs. The libs.sfs file is mounted to /system/lib. When you go to /system/lib you are "looking in the libs.sfs file"

Anyway with CWM you will be able to flash an updated libs.sfs for example, but not add or replace a file in libs.sfs.
You will also be able to flash a new kernel or any other update, make and restore backups. The sfs files/squashfs filesystems will be backed up and restored also.

    Hope i answered your question.

You are using VegaICS and this rom does not have flash_image included. See my thread on the touch recovery. There is a post by me about obtaining flash_recovery for vegaics.

Ok sorry for the previous post, finally I have found how to install flash_image, and the ET has installed the clockworkmod recovery... But I can't boot into it.... I have tried with the app Recovery reboot and rommanager and it just gets back on vegaICS.....
