Ice Cream Sandwich Ported To Advent Vega and the New Advent Vega 2

Guys, what are the plans for porting ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) on to the Advent Vega? Are the development teams going to continue to press on with Honeycomb or are you going to start work on ICS onto the Advent Vega? Given the great results that we seen with Vegacomb 3.2 I can only expect the same results with ICS.

We have to remember that there will also be an imminent release of the Advent Vega 2! Interesting times for Android and users of the Advent Vega.

Can’t wait to see what happens next from the Developers, a heads up would be great...

How close is the code in Honeycomb to ICS? I am of the same opinion that it won’t be too difficult to port ICS over to the Advent Vega. From what I have read, ICS has been based on Honeycomb, it would make sense to utilize existing code that has a proven track record.

It will be a first if the developers who gave us Vegacomb 3.2 can be the first to get ICS on to the Advent Vega...

If any team can do it, the foloing can.. Newbe5, Ejtagle, Rebel1, Corvus, HomerSp, Cass67, a_appleby, BillyBobJoe A.k.a. BillyTheFish, and stiggy2001. Go for it guys...

    BillyTheFish,

Mate, thanks for the update and the reply, as I am sure you understand that we are all waiting with baited breath on news from the developers regards ICS being ported over to the Advent Vega. We are starting to see certain aspects of ICS creeping in to Honeycomb 3.2 Aero has brought over certain aspects of ICS to HC to give us a flavour of what we can expect, nice work Aero.

I read an article recently, that the hardware to develop the source code for ICS will be very heavy, twice what was needed to build Gingerbread! 16gb of Ram etc..Do we expect this to cause any of our developers any issue?

Do we need to donate more funds to help assist with the development of the code, we are one team here, keep us in the loop.

Any updates or news for the site regards ICS

    Regards

I think everyone needs to chill, enjoy the hard work it took to make vegacomb for a little while longer... Yeah, don't make Vegas go to 11...

Guys, Areo has started a new thread called Honey Ice, Areo has introduced several new updates as well as several ICS themes into Vega Comb 3.2 Areo will eventually introduce a new ROM, based on Vega comb 3.2 by Newbe5 and his team. He is currently working on several new fixes, HDMI, GPS, new Kernel etc, so please post any comments in to this new thread.

afaik ics requirese a 3.x kernel, so a new kernel would be the best move towards ics.
