I hoping that someone from the team who has tested this stuff and written instructions can post them here. I want to ensure that we have the most accurate instructions possible for our community.

Unfortunately the first issue with linux is that no one I've seen has gotten fastboot to work appropriately, I don't see why it couldn't. But the method in linux would be exactly the same as in windows. as long as fastboot works and the commands are the same.

Fastboot in Linux does work with our device, you need to use the -i switch in-order to see the device. You can test it by doing fastboot -i 0x0955 reboot. Your device should now reboot. I couldn't seem to get fastboot to work with the /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04, when i get home tonight ill do a bit more testing with the rules.

Yes some people are getting fastboot in linux to work. The steps should be exactly the same in my other post, replacing "fastboot" with "fastboot-linux" in the command lines.

it will work as long as you use the -i 0x0955 switch. USB Vendor ID 0x0955 is Nvidia

Where are the general instructions with the downloads? I just picked up a Thrive and I simply can't live life without root!

General instructions are here > http://tabletroms.com/forums/forumdi...OM-Development
You'll need to do the clockwork recovery mod instructions, then use clockwork to restore one of the CW Restore Images.
