Office software on Android is nasty, surely a wp is easiest of all?
Glad zero put idea of what he wants to be able to achieve. Will Google docs coming out and going off-line help? Didn't mind spreadsheet but only used wp as notes, docs currently out performed by this forum reply textbox I'm using to write this.

I think a major barrier will be people saying its not word. What ever your opinion of ms, office is second to none (using 2003 about to go 2010 so opinion may change with frustration). Have you ever used open office? Just not a comparison, as impressive as it is if you have the choice open isn't it. Still better than android, so is open the type of thing that you're looking for?

OpenOffice for android would be great!... (but don't pay any attention to me... I still use WordPerfect :P ) There were two Spaniards working on an android version last year I think, but I haven't seen anything lately about their progress.
Nexus One (still my favorite mini-tablet), Adam PixelQi+3g (gone to a new home)... HTC Sensation (waiting for CM7), Nook Touch, LG g-slate

Developing for Android is like trying to hit a moving target, though. I wouldn't be sgurprised if there is a serious office app in the works... waiting for Google to ship an acceptable and open tablet OS.

Where does one get Polaris Office, by the way? I poked around the usual suspects and couldn't find a trace of it.

I am honestly not sure where to get Polaris Office. I had never heard of it until it came bundled with my Asus Transformer. Maybe try contacting them through their website?

After posting, I looked into open office on Android and it's a firm no. Seems that OO isn't actually pure Java and they can't cross compile the code, this means it would need a complete redesign. LibreOffice however talked about an Android version about a month ago - so some hope (eventually)

There's a Google Docs app in the market. Has anyone tried it out?

Obviously for the moment it would only work if you have an Internet connection.

From a code standpoint OpenOffice/LibreOffice isn't very well designed - so even if it were pure Java you probably wouldn't want to install it!
