    Hard reset of a Prestige 7

    Hello everyone, this is my first post and I do it because I'm in a strange situation.

    My friend bought me in june a Prestige 7, but after 2 weeks I suddenly decided to lock the screen with a dot pattern -or whatever it's called-, and I forgot it from the beginning. The thing is that I disabled the wifi to save battery power, and I used 2 google accounts, one for the tablet login process and another for the email client. I thinks this is why I can't login at all. It says the password is wrong but I know it is not; I asked for advice and someone told me to reset my password, but the problem persist. So when I read the user manual, it says that in case I forgot the pattern I'd have to reset the tablet, but I can't find how.

    And this is why I'm making this post, to know if anyone can help me with the process to hard reset my Prestige 7. It's not nice being incapable of using it just for a moment of dumbness, so please, somebody help me.

    I don't call to technical service because english is not my mother tongue and I don't feel confident enough to try to explain this on the phone or to somebody that required a better explanation, and I don't go to the store or send it to it because I live in Mexico and it will be more expensive than the tablet itself.

    Thanks for a detailed run-down of the problem.
    The 'hard reset' is located on the back of the tablet.
    Just poke a paper clip into that hole. the one on the back, not the hole on the side.
    Good luck

    With the lock screwed up you will have to re-image the device unless the password works or you are familiar with ADB.

    With ADb you cane us the following commands

    Code:
    adb shell cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
    sqlite3 settings.db
    update system set value=0 where name='lock_pattern_autolock';
    update system set value=0 where name='lockscreen.lockedoutpermanently';
    .quit
    Reboot, if that doesn't work try

    Code:
    adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key
    then reboot. I have only tried this once and it worked. I found it XDA. But it can't hurt to try.

    Thanks for answering, but I tried that already and it doesn't works (I forgot mentioning it in the first post). It only restart the tablet, but when it turns on ask me for the password again. I thought I had to keep pressing it a few seconds, but it does the same thing. Any ideas about this?

    No, I'm not familiar with it, but I'd like to. I'm gonna do a little research to try what you just said (*cough* unless you can tell me how *cough*). Thanks.

    EDIT:
    Do you think this would help me? Considering all I know about programming is that it's something I don't know...

    Download these two files:

    Desktop.7z
    android_usb_fsl.zip

    The file desktop.7z is the ADB files you will need, the second is the ADB drivers. Unzip and install the drivers then unzip the desktop file to any directory.

    With the drivers installed and the tablet connected open a command prompt where you unzipped the ADB files and type ADB devices, it should show your device. If it does then just type the commands I showed you 1 at a time. If it doesn't read more on that link you have.
