I ran across this nook tablet on craigslist for $125 and still has 11 months of warranty. I think I might be finding out why it was so cheap.

I've been reading all day and am getting mixed signals.
I initially made a cm7 sd card...which booted when plugged into electric...and "sometimes' off of electric.
The nook came with 1.4.1 and I downgraded to 1.4.0.

Now I got this for my 9 year old..he previously had a nook color which worked perfectly, but was lost at a hospice center.

So my question. Are there any new developments about modding the nook tablet so you can boot off of the sd card "everytime". I have read forums
giving instructions for getting around this, but nothing is consistent.

Is there any failproof way to actually root the device and not use the sdcard?? I don't want a brick.

So tired for reading and searching!!! :-)
