Kind of is considering my cousin got the 32gb for 299. I got the 16gb for 199. But since it doesnt have expansion. It is a really nice tablet. Its just thay the apps suck and i have so many good android apps now. When i rooted my bb playbook the android player didnt seem that great.

BlackBerry tablet doesn't run android right? Are there any apps for the blackberry OS?

No it doesn't run Android. However, the new update that is due this month will allow you to run Android apps on it.

I wouldn't have one if they gave me one - I hate my (work provided) BB and its lack of decent functionality .... ie a browser that is unusably slow and unusably unreadable... and other apps that suffer from the same.... my old HTC Desire knocks the socks off it

Which has no comparison to the tablet at all.

True - but doesn't the tablet actually need to work with the phone for email etc.... then I am still tied to the detested phone.

Yes, but only until the release of the 2.0 OS which is due this month maybe on the 21st at MWC. It will then have it's own calendar and email. Or so I have read anyway.
