    [KK-ROM] PAC-MAN 4.4.4 RC1 KitKat UNOFFICIAL ADAM ROM [WIP] [2014-10-02]

    Hey all,

I have successfully built a working PAC-MAN 4.4 ROM now, it has elements from Cyanogenmod, AOKP, and ParanoidAndroid with a little bit of PAC-MAN. For more info goto the main web site here: www.pac-rom.com

Just as the other Android 4.3/4.4 ROMs there is some initial freezing during setup, but gets smoother later.

3G is included, but am unable to test since I have Wifi only version.

You will need the latest ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.7 to install this ROM and may have to increase system size if installing full Google Apps package.

    Install zip Instructions for Windows

    1. Download from links below the ROM, any updated boot.img, google apps if needed, SuperSU if you need root, and ClockWorkMod.
    2. Extract ClockWorkMod recovery zip.
    3. Connect Adam via usb to computer.
    4. Set Adam to nvflash recovery mode by holding Volume - and power on.
    5. Goto driver manager in Windows and you should see some APX device, and right click on update the driver for this device.
    6. Set Browse driver to Drivers/Driver32-bit/ and install.
    7. run "flashrecovery.bat recovery.img" in command line and wait till it finished flashing or drag recovery.img onto flashrecovery.bat.
    8. Transfer ROM.zip to your sdcard on Adam.
    9. Reboot Adam while holding Volume + to go into ClockWorkMod recovery.
    10. Wipe data/factory reset. (This will wipe all data from your internal sdcard and the cache).
    11. Install ROM.zip in ClockWorkMod.
    12. Install Google apps.zip if needed.
    13. Install SuperSU.zip if need root access.
    14. Restart after it is finished flashing and you will boot into your new Kitkat ROM.

How to flash boot.img via USB
    1. Hold volume - while turning on to go into nvflash recovery.
    2. Copy downloaded boot.img into your nvflash directory.
    3. Run "flashboot.bat boot.img" in command line.
    4. Restart after it is finished flashing and you will boot with your new boot.img.

How to flash boot.img via Adam terminal emulator
    1. Downloaded boot.img onto your sdcard.
    2. Download and run terminal emulator app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...dterm&hl=en_GB
    3. Type "cd directory-where-boot.img-stored" in terminal emulator.
    3. Then type "flash_image boot boot.img".
    4. Restart after it is finished flashing and you will boot with your new boot.img.

How to obtain adam logs to report problems

    1. Download ADB and USB drivers zip below in download section.
    2. Extract zip and run UniversalAdbDriverSetup6.msi.
    3. Connect Adam to computer via USB.
    4. Power on Adam with ROM you are having problems with to capture log and do what you did you get the problem.
    3. Launch Windows command prompt and type cd "path to platform-tools".
    4. Type "adb wait-for-device pull /data/aplog".
    6. If you get remote object '/data/aplog/ does not exist' goto step 8.
    7. Type "adb pull /data/dmsg".
    8. Goto step 13 if step 4 and 7 were successful.
    9. Type "adb shell".
    10. Type "cd /data".
    11. Type "logcat -d > aplog".
    12. Type "dmesg > dmsg".
    13. Type "cat /proc/kmsg > kmsg &".
    14. Press CTRL-C to exit shell.
    15. Type "adb pull /data/aplog".
    16. Type "adb pull /data/dmsg".
    17. Type "adb pull /data/kmsg".
    18. You should now have 3 files in your platform-tools directory, aplog, dmsg, and kmsg.
    19. Launch Web browser and goto Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002!.
    20. Open aplog in wordpad and copy and paste all text to web page and submit.
    21. Create a new message in this thread and paste the URL from pastebin.com of your newly submitted log.
    22. Repeat 19-20 for dmsg and kmsg.

download CWM with battery indicator from Borkata and working USB thanks to ri9000
    download old version

    Source download links:

    PAC ROM 4.4: download

Device tree and kernel source: download

    Vendor tree: download

    Tested and working:

    RC1:
    [2014-10-02]
new boot.img for preventing excessive audit logging causing freezing in Opera and maybe other apps

    [2014-09-30]
new boot.img for preventing network log spamming which caused Google Play Music and maybe other streaming services to stutter and freeze

    [2014-09-28]
    Update ROM to 4.4.4 RC1
    Youtube working
    Google Maps working
    Install apk from sdcard working
UPDATE: USB should also be working when re-plugging in
Camera should be working better although sometimes captured image at top is scrambled at higher resolutions, SVGA more reliable
NOTE: disable double-tap to sleep in settings - display advanced as sometimes it can cause sleep when just trying to pull down status bar drawer

    Beta 1:
    [2014-07-02]
Update ROM to Beta 1 using Android 4.4.4
Still using 3.1 kernel as 2.6 kernel is not working well with this ROM

    Alpha 1:
    [2014-04-03]
    SOD fix LP2 mode

    [2014-04-01]
USB and GPS power management to power off when disabled
Soft keys will reset on errors, hopefully this will resolve issue when keys don't respond

    [2014-03-30]
Hotfix for sdcard1 not being recognized

    [20144-03-29]
Should wake from sleep every time now
USB connection to pc working better with no freezing, but still after a while is an unknown usb device

    [2014-03-13]
Borkata's camera and gps fixes are now in place, change to lower resolution if you get green lines in camera
No updates to pac-rom itself as current build is broken
    Problems with waking from sleep

    [2014-03-11]
Internal sdcard0 should now be working, but multi user profiles may not work correctly
USB mounts can now be unmounted/mounted from storage settings
Verified no problems waking from sleep

    [2014-03-07]
Please test sleep, see if it wakes every time
USB mounts now appear in storage settings, but can't seem to unmount

    [2014-03-05]
Sleep workaround to LP2 mode instead of LP1
root access working now with SuperSU
USB Storage mounts, but not displaying in storage settings
    Settings-Apps doesn't crash anymore

    [2014-03-04]
    HD accelerated video playback
    HDMI Output with sound
    Pixel Qi mode
    Wifi
    Bluetooth A2DP
    Internal and External SD
    Plus more...

    Not working:

USB is still problematic with unknown usb device after a while and USB drives not being auto mounted
Camera still a work in progress, so highest resolution may still have green lines and unsteady flickering image
    Compass
    Privacy settings may FC
    Maybe other things...

    Credits
Borkata for making such an excellent kernel and CM ports and help with problems

ri9000 for help making usb work again

PAC-ROM developers for providing an interesting KitKat ROM

I wish I could figure out why it isn't working on yours, but there may be hope for this ROM or maybe another KitKat ROM

Wiped the Adam and installed Alpha1? Booted very well and even played pacman though the rendering is not perfect. ROM is very smooth and fast. Literally no lad and typing speed is awesome (I haven't installed any apps, no Google apps or Superuser app). Only glitch so far is the screen of death and the Adam not waking from sleep. It needs a hard reset and then Encryption problems start.
Infor one think this is a Clockwork issues and not a ROM issue.
If you look at n-tier architecture based software the common problem is having a mis match between the framework and the kernel. This doesnt mean that the framework is wrong it simply means the the mid match needs to be corrected.
