One Click Root Guide for the Amazon Kindle Fire

There is now a method to use SuperOneClick 2.2 to work on the Amazon Kindle Fire. You need to have SDK installed and running on your pc to accomplish the rooting. Once you do that, here's the steps. Guide Here

    1. Navigate to %USERPROFILE%\.android, where you will need to add to the file- adb_usb.ini . Add 0x1949, then save.

    2. Now go to the google.usb_driver folder in SDK, inside that you find android_winusb.inf file. Under both Google.NTx86, and Google.NTamd64, add the following:

    ;Kindle Fire

    %SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006

    %CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006&MI_01

Now save your work, you're done with adb.

    3. Next, plug your Amazon Kindle Fire to your PC.

    4. Open device manager, and you should see Kindle Fire, under other devices.

    5. Enable installation of apps from Unknown Sources on your Fire. You can do this by going to Settings, and then Device. Turn on ‘Allow Installation of Applications’ and hit OK when the warning box pops up.

    6. You need SuperOneClick Root, available from here- http://downloads.tabletroms.com/zero...-ShortFuse.zip

    7. Run SuperOneClick and simply click on the Root button on the top-left of the tool.

Honestly one click is ok but I did one with the Kindle Fire Utility and TWRP.

This is if you want to install Cyanogen Mod 7 like I have done.

CM7 for the Kindle Fire adds hardware video support – here’s how to install it - Liliputing

There is now a Cyanogen Mod 9 ROM looks like

There is also burritoroot which is a one click root
