When you put in the livecd it'll come up with a grub menu that shows linux mint, or boot from hard drive, when your on the linux mint entry hit tab and type in

I've had issues with the acpi, you might want to google your machine and ubunt/mint, if you get a black screen sometimes it does take a bit on libvecd depending on yoru machine, be patient give it time.

git fetch --tags
will pull the contents down from github along with any tags, it will not change your working directory

git pull
will not only do the fetch, but will update your working directory to match the latest upstream version (assuming that you have not made any changes)

git checkout -f tagname
will change your working directory to match the upstream state as of when the tag was made

note that you can also do
git checkout -f commitnumber
to move to any arbitrary commit, even if it wasn't tagged

using git to pull things is going to be MUCH faster than pulling all the files as a zip, especially the second time you update.

seems i can only install 32 bit versions only.

is there any flavor of linux (32-bit), in which these stuffs can be done successfully?

(i have 103 GB empty partition now.)

Edit - anyone got success with this on any 32 bit version? if yes, which one?

I've successfully built on Linux Mint 12 (32 bit). I used Virtualbox on Win 7 enterprise (32 bit).

Regarding the Java error on 32 bit that one other post had mentioned:

tools/releasetools/ has the following line:
cmd = ["java", "-Xmx2048m", "-jar", ..................

Change 2048 to 1024 or 512 and the final zip file gets built successfully.

Thanks to the orginal post for this nice article and thanks to Mr. DL.

Now I've my own ROM running on my adam. Can anyone point me to the appropriate version of gapps that should be used?
