[ROM] Cromnia - Android 2.2 based on BeastROM

    Custom ROM Notion Ink Adam

    Hey guys,

here is kind of my second start for CROMNIA. Since Ice Cream Sandwich is coming and there are some great Gingerbread ROMs as well, I thought this should be a ROM that has everything working, runs smooth and is easy to install. I suggest installing this ROM if you don't want to always try new builds until Ice Cream Sandwich is fully working available.

CROMNIA is based on Android 2.2, has the newest Flash Player, Market, Gmail etc. installed and is as easy as that to install:
    1. Download the ROM
    2. Put the file on your SDCARD
    3. Turn off your Adam
    4. Turn it back on while holding the Volume Up key
    5. Select using the volume keys the option "wipe data/factory reset". Enter by using the PowerKey. All your installed application will be gone after this process!
    6. Next choose "apply internal sdcard:update.zip" or "apply external sdcard:update.zip" depending on where you put the update.zip file.
The ROM has keyboard and launcher preinstalled, but for better usability I suggest buying the keyboard "ThumbKeyboard" and the launcher "adw.Launcher EX". I would have loved to integrate these applications, but since they aren't free it would have been illegal.

For the people that want more infos:

I only made a Clemsyn Kernel Version, to keep it as simple as possible. I changed the fonts to the ROBOTIC ones used in Ice Cream Sandwich and updated all gapps as well as the flash player, dolphin browser and superuser.apk.

    OLD Thread:
So here is my first ROM for the Notion Ink Adam!
It is based on Beast v. 2.2.1 with the following changes:
    Code:
-changed standard email app icon, because it was the same like in mail'd
    -inserted gps fix (http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?869-How-to-get-GPS-to-work)
    -updated notion ink apps
    -updated gapps
    -inserted new boot animation (http://tabletroms.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?302-Tablet-Roms-Rom-Development-Tools)
    -inserted customized Red Aurora VTL.Launcher
    -added AppWidgetPicker.apk (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780828)
-added newest version of ADW.Launcher (http://jbthemes.com/anderweb/category/adwlauncher/)
-changed kernels: 2.6.32 from Notion Ink Git (http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?970-Kernel-Built-from-Notion-Ink-Git-(Updated-6-14-11) )
-created extra version with Clemsyn kernel version 3 (http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?673-KERNEL-Clemsyn-Version-11-for-Adam-Notion-Ink)
    -added new window animations
    To-do:

    Code:
-change more icons, make an individual look
    -create own boot animation
    -insert driver for xbox controller
-try kernels with 3g modem compatibility
    -add a better keyboard
    -update to newest flash player
    How-to flash the ROM:

    -with stock recovery:
    1. Download the ROM rename it to update.zip and put it on your adam (no matter if with Clemsyn kernel or not).
    2. Shutdown the device, press the volume-up button while holding down the power switch. You will enter the recovery mode.
    3. Navigate with the volume buttons and wipe your data partition. All personal data will be permanently lost! (Coming from Beast, you could try installing without a wipe, but i haven't tested that) Edit: RahulH reports that updating from Beast works without wipe.
    4. Navigate to "apply internal update.zip" or "apply external update.zip", depending onto what you copied the ROM.
    5. Have fun!

If you don't like the fonts, download this file:

    http://www.multiupload.com/IG2P2US590
put it in the root of your sdcard, and run the following commands in terminal emulator (grab from market):
    Code:
    mount -o remount -o rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
    cd /system/fonts
    unzip /sdcard/beast_fonts.zip
After that, your Adam will crash, but should be fine after a reboot.
These fonts should also look normal in Firefox and Opera.

    Changelog:
    Code:
    10-08-2011
    Beta 3 release:
    -changed more icons
-replaced some libs by the newest official ones
    Beta 2 links:
    without Clemsyn: http://www.multiupload.com/4QQJKN9W6I
    with Clemsyn: http://www.multiupload.com/R232MOM9HR

    07-08-2011
    Beta 2 Release:
-Added Xbox Controller support for version without Clemsyn (no need for a command in terminal emu.)
With Clemsyn no support yet, but I'm working on it.
-build.prob further tweaked to improve performance.
-updated to Flash 10.3. Hulu should work, if not, make sure your useragent is desktop.
    Old Links:
    without Clemsyn: http://www.multiupload.com/8WKJV39FBH
    with Clemsyn: http://www.multiupload.com/47SMQG6OC5

-Reuploaded version without Clemsyn kernel, because I accidently mixed up kernel files. Sorry guys!

    Known bugs:
    Code:
acore crashes if you add a new contact.

New Market here, download and install it like any other app. BTW it really, really rocks on tablets
Thanks to all members of this great comunity, especially to josh4trunks!

Thanks to Landroid at xda for the Cromnia logo.

    I hope you like it!

    Thanks @ David,

Was looking forward to a ROM with the Beast + updated kernel.

I installed this over the Beast without a wipe and everything runs smoothly. No issues yet.
    Loved the TR boot animation.
Haven't yet tested GPS but hope that its working.

Got a Quadrant score of 3074

Not sure what you mean but I did not face any problem while moving from Beast to Cromnia.

I am going to try this one as well. For my holidays on the beach I want an Adam with a working camera so HC is not good enough, and this sounds like the new improved Beast which I liked very much. But of course once there is HC with working camera I change back.
Adam since 31 March 2011. Switched from Beast 2.2.1 to HC 16New June 20th to HC16New-KV2 July 1st, to Adamcomb v0.1 8 July, Cromnia beta 3 (Beast) 10 July, needed camera, 3 August AC03. January 2012 Adam for repair to Germany due to broken glass, still working after fall 2 feb 2012 Blackberry Playbook, fantastic love it. Adam returned glass repaired installed Icescream 4 Beta works excellent, changed to Jelly Bean beta WOW!
