    Battery life on A7

with my recent CyanogenMod7 for A7, i get an avg. of 18% used (starting from 100%) on 13hrs standby.

What is your experience with battery life and maybe regular use of A7?
I think we hit 4hrs total for normal use?

Maybe some comments on battery life would be interesting, and also on the recent mod i released, i do not see problems right now.

Dexter, I have noticed much worse battery life since switching from the factory ROM when you started working on the A7. The biggest problem for me is that the battery drains extremely quickly while sleeping if I don't turn off the wireless. The battery will go completely dead in one day just on standby if wireless is left on. So, I turn wireless off every time I go to standby and can get a few hours of use a day. Then, have to charge it every night.
    I'm running your ElocityMOD 1.2

Have You Tried The newer version 1.41/1.42? I Never Used 1.2 but i do remember 1.3, the issue there was that we had re-connect the wifi after coming out of sleep(It Would disconnect when it wen to sleep). I Never had a problem with 1.42 disconnecting and reconnecting after sleep.

But Back on Topic Battery Life is decent on Th CM7 build clock at 1.2ghz, about 8 hours with my moderate use

ok, im not sure the wifi driver is perfect here, as i see it, it disconnects fine as my vpn tunnel needs renegotiation after screen comes back on.

but i am starting to think i am tearing the battery on a7 and its getting pretty old now so maybe its not all just about software but the battery simply getting worse?
anyways comparing CyaA7 with an AcerA500 is way out of its league.. my A500 can use 3-4 percent per night and be on for days. the new kernels 2.6.36.X are really much better at keeping the cpu at its lowest speed.
maybe it has to do with the oc steps? i never tested much here..
i think 200+ is lowest on a7, where my a500 got 128mhz as the lowest, but chipset is a more recent t20 edition maybe platform is that much more different.

So can you control the clock speed on the CM7 build. If so, how do you do that? Is there something else to install and does it make a big difference in the speed of application running.

first you have to get the OC kernel from the CM7 build OP, then download Setcpu or pimp my CPU(anything that will change the cpu)

Is the battery replaceable in the A7? If so, where can you get one?

I am definitely getting the same issue with the latest CM7 build, I had the A7 plugged in all afternoon, installed CM7, then unplugged it and turned off the screen. When I came back to it in the morning, it was completely drained, zero battery, and this is on a brand new device.

I may install 1.42 and see if it has the same issue when I get a chance.
