Made some updates to this ROM. Please let me know if you have any issues. Please read all the information on the OP. Remember, this ROM will totaly wipr your device and put it back to fully stock like it was the day you took it out of the box.

    Hi Paul
Thank you. My day job took time away from the bricked thrive, but today I tried "pkg_103958_13.37.26.TC10119300A" via the "Android System Recovery Utility"->Apply update from external storage. That went well, and I got the fastboot back.
But when I try to install the clockwork mode, the tablet reboots in a second or so, but never come up to the home screen. If I try to root (or unroot), I get numerous errors about not being able to create the link/file exists errors.

I tried "adb devices" (while tablet is in fastboot, connected to laptop via usb, with adb drivers installed and known to be working), and it doesn't see the tablet.

I hope this doesn't mean that's it's over, and you can still save the tablet! If you want to email directly, my email is user name at yahoo dot com.

    Appreciate your help!
    Kandarp.

No, you are fine. Your device was already rooted, correct? That is why you see all the error messages when you run the root process again. That is normal and OK. If you are fully rooted, and you load CLockWorkMod to the device, then you have all you need. Now, download my HMJ37,01,5,0032 stock rooted ROM and install it via ClockWorkMod. It will correct all your issues and get you back up and running.

Actually, I had rooted it once and it was working beautifully, and foolishly forgot to unroot before upgrading to HMJ37.31.5.0011. At that point, the tablet booted with the upgrade, but gmail, browser, etc. didn't work. So I tried the rollback with the file in the thread http://tabletroms.com/forums/dalepls...-rollback.html, which got the fastboot back, but otherwise the tablet is toast. It doesn't boot at all. All I can do is power+volUp to boot into either fastboot or recovery. When in fastboot, I don't think the laptop sees the device via adb. Hope I've explained where I'm at a bit better! Basically, it's bricked. Is there any way to get it working again?
    Thanks!

If you have fastboot, then your PC should see it and we should be able to get you back up and running. Put your device into fastboot mode and connect it to the PC. Open a DOS command windows and go to the tools folder in the Easy Flash Tool package. Issue fastboot reboot. Your device should reboot. If it does, then all is OK. Put the device back into fastboot and use the Easy flash tool to flash ClockWorkMod. Once this is done, reboot into recovery and go to ClockWorkMod and install my HMJ37.01.5.0032 stock rooted ROM. If you still have issues, PM me.

Thank you, that's pretty much what I did, with the CWM recovery, and then your stock ROM. I'm up and running! Thank you so much for all the help!!

I think part of my problem was trying to use the thrive easy root tool from Ubuntu. Once I switched to windows, it worked fine.

I guess I'm still in not-rootable hell if I bought the Thrive with. 0002?

My friend has the thrive and I bought it from him for a hundred dollars when he suddenly started to hate it. And I understand now why. My old Moto Droid is still awesome because of root. Still a great tablet without root.
