Why Amazon's tablets will be the first successful Android tablet.

Interesting article on "Why Amazon's tablets will be the first successful Android tablet".

He brings up quite a few points that I believe may be spot on. Seems their might be a backlit feature, much like the Pixel Qi on the Notion Ink Adam.
The 10.1 inch Hollywood tablet will allow users to switch between e-reading mode, which uses the e-ink technology popularized in Kindle e-readers now, and a back-lit color touch display.
The only thing that would stop me from getting this is that the only thing Google on it is the search, no Apps, no market (Amazon yes, Google no), also to note that there isn't any indication of Android 2.3 or Honeycomb or Ice Cream. Still, as popular as the Kindle, I wouldn't doubt thises two units would be successful. Even more so if teh development community starts hacking it to death.

So what are your take on his views.

    Post away.

Yeah, I read everything I could find yesterday on the Tablets, the 7 in version comes with the unknown version of Android and does not even mention Google anywhere. So, it could be good, might be ok, and unfortunately could be pathetic. It sound like the sales need to be great for the 10 inch ICS Tablet to arrive in 2012, which or course sound wonderful and I would probably get one. The 7" Kindle Color Tablet might be good enough for one of my teen daughters! They just like surfing the net and reading, and facebook and twitter.

Actually it looks like it's using 2.1 on the 7" version-pretty lame, in my opinion. The hardware specs are also low-6gb storage, single-core processor, wifi only, no camera, no eink, maybe no sd card slot. Not for me.

I think its doomed to fail, and my Elocity A7 is alot better already than any upcoming Amazon 7" tablet, which pretty much only await a CyanogenMod upgrade before endusers will be happy with their device.

Doubt that any pre3x tablet will be getting much success in a apple vs. android period where only the latest android on our side, is the most wanted and all android users are waiting for that to happen.

Their longshot at selling it as ereader will work out, i think, but as an android, they will dissappoint alot of eagerly waiting readers that hope to get a good ebook reader and androind tablet as well.

Maybe it's an old ex-apple employee that got this idea?

I don't think Amazon is trying to compete with Apple with this 7" Kindle whatever it is. The Nook Color is outselling the Kindle, and that's the market I believe they're going after with this.

Na, no biggie, that thread can stay also.

As for this thread, I'm left to wonder if the new Kindle Fire is the Coyote? Or is the Coyote another 7 inch tablet coming out later. Anyone know?
