    Linsay Cosmos F-7HD

    Hi,

I have a couple of tablets with this brand Lynsay cosmos F-7HD. One of them has stopped working. I am not sure why but I think it has been flashed with a wrong ROM. The device with the problem when powered on it just sits on the Animation of the manfuacturing company, Linsay. My question is can I somehow extract the rom from the working tablet and install it on the defective one? Thanks.

You could try seeing if there is a recovery on the tablet. With the tablet off press and hold volume - then press and hold power, let go of power when/if you see a screen. If a menu or an android with an exclamation mark don't come up try again but this time hold volume + and power. IF you get a recovery screen there should be an option to clear cache or restore tablet to factory.

Thanks a lot for your quick response. I have just applied your instructions and now I have the android lying on the screen with his ventral body wall open with an exclamation mark inside a red triangle. But I have not seen any option to remove cache or data. Should I connect the tablet to the PC?

Now I have brought up the menu and I see the wipe data/factory reset option but my tablet does not have enter or home buttons. It only have volume and power buttons and a small circular button I dont know what it is. Is there any way to go around this?

No but that is good. Try pressing + or - volume or power to get the menu. Most likely volume -.

In the recovery menu, Power button does not do anything. Only volume -+ working by navigating through the options. Am I missing something or this tablet is a bit stupid ?

Hmmm, every tablet I have used that does recovery without buttons, power selects. Maybe press and hold it for just a second longer. But not too long, you don't want to power down.

I tried to hold the power button for a few extra seconds but it makes no difference unfortunately. Is there a software that can do this process from PC?

If you are familiar with ADb you can try to see if the pad is connected while on the boot animation. If it is you can try running

    HTML Code:
    adb shell rm -r /data/dalvik-cache/*
    then
    HTML Code:
    adb reboot
If that doesn;t work you will probably have to contact your reseller or the manufacturer for a image to flash.
