    Carbon Fiber case?

OK, I know this will sound crazy, but the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that I MUST try it.
I am going to replace the back of my Adam with a back-plate made from Carbon Fiber. If you will recall, I originally took apart my Adam so that I could not only see the internals, but also so I could repair a crack in the back plate. I glued the crack, but i just have not been happy with the repair.

So this brings me to my new plan.

    Any thoughts or Suggestions?

Just remember that carbon fiber will block any signals to or from your Adam. You will end up with poor GPS, 3G, and wifi reception all for a very expensive back plate.

Very good point. I had not considered that. It is possible that would be quite a problem. Even though the wireless and 3g antennae are near the Sim/microSD card slots, the loss would be great.

Well back to the drawing board,I think.

Here are the issues, I want something DIY, with a reasonably low price point (being a poor starving college student), Sturdy, and wont interfere with my wireless signal [which most of us agree is not as excellent as we would like].

    I am open to Sugguestions,
As papb0007 mentioned, the Carbon Fiber back-plate that i was intending on making would block the signals quite a bit.

    Any Bright ideas?

If you have the access to the right tools you could make one out of carved aluminium like ipad D: and then laser engraved it. You could also just laser engraved the plastic back.

What about just keeping the repaired back panel and cover it with a new skin such as matte plastic or vinyl sticker. It would hide any repaor work and also be on the trendy side of things as im seeing these grafic decals showing up on laptop covers. Might bee way easier and show some style too. Just leave a cut out for the adam fcc silk screened box. Depending on the material you use you might find something with a grip or some texture. Good luck either way you go about it.

Once Again, Loftus to the rescue. I had not considered that, it may just be the solution I am looking for.... My primary concern is strength though, because I want to be certain that it will overcome any of the problems caused from the crack that I had to deal with before.
