    How to test GPS Hardware

I had some spare time to tinker around with my second (first) Adam.

Since I could not get a GPS lock while running AdamComb (v0.3), I now switched back to Beasty 2.2.1 + Clemsyn.

My other (batch 2) Adam gets a perfect GPS lock running that ROM.
The first (batch 1) Adam still lies on the windowsill for hours, unable to even 'see' any satellites.

So if it is not the OS, chances are good that this is indeed a hardware problem.
Since I have already had the device open a few times and NI repair times are said to be rather long, I do not want to send it in but rather I am looking for a way to verify if there is any signal reception going on in the GPS chip at all.

Does anybody have any idea which app to use or any way to find out if the GPS chip & Antenna are basically 'working'?

Try the nmea.? Monitor from charcross on the market, you can see the text stream being given out by the chip.

    Thanks.

The app shows no data - does that mean my chip is broken?
