I believe Gtalk-video was released for Gingerbread. Does it work in the NI update for GB ??
I've had some luck with yahoo for video chat, but it ...well, it's yahoo. Anyone found a good way to video chat on Adam?
Especially something like Google talk with video chat?

haven't had any video conversations yet, but Fring does group video chat AND supports google talk
Moto Droid Razr HD - unlocked bootloader - rooted and running Fuzion HD, today
Droid 4 - rooted running CM10.1 official
Samsung Moment - currently in use as a baby monitor
2x Rooted Nook Tablets - one with acclaims unofficial AOKP Jelly Bean with 10 finger multitouch
Yes Gtalk video is on Gingerbread - with a modified apk as google released it for the 2.3.4 or something but you can get a version that will run on 2.3, I've not tried, but I believe Fring, Qik are not that good, I've been looking for one that will talk to iphones and pc's from my Adam (Fring & Qik won't), so I'll have to wait for Honeycomb I think, for Gtalk with video, Skype is a possibility as they are developing it, but now Microsoft has bought Skype so I wouldn't expect them to develop it for Android anytime soon, but I bet there will be a version for Windows 8 Mobile!
So you should have decent video chat between any platform with Gtalk on the 27th!! (assuming NI release on time!)
qikvideo should work fine!
Qik will only talk to other phones so it depends on who you want it to talk to
I have tried the modified google talk apk with no luck. Tried installing it multiple ways and just got a bunch of parsing errors. And I'm pretty sure I followed the directions to a tee, or tea, or t...whatever, I did it the way you're supposed to. I forgot to mention in the original post that my issue with Yahoo chat is that my image is always flipped sideways for the receiver, even if it's not sideways on my Adam. Either way the whole thing seems to be going sideways ...
I checked over at xda for the gingerbread version of the talk apk originally, but couldn't find anything there that worked and I wanted to know if it was something peculiar to my rom. HC14 grants market access to the AV version, but that doesn't matter because there's no camera functionality on HC14. Ain't that a bee? (Get it?)
Short story, still looking for functional suggestions outside qik and or Skype.
Oh, and I've sworn a blood oath against fring ...it ate my father and killed my dog. VENDETTA!
The best option is gtalk with video when we get honeycomb on the 27th, that's what I'm waiting for! The modified gtalk video will only run on 2.3 and above and if you are on a fully working rom you will only be on 2.2 like me.

Try oovoo. I use it every day to video chat with my girlfriend who works in a different city, and it works fine. She uses a pc and I use my adam. The one from the marketplace has a system check and wont work with the adam, but there is a previous version floating online that works like a charm
