Cant choose device to download to

I have a Notion ink adam tablet , and a samsung galaxy s3
In the past i have used my galaxy to tether internet to my Adam ,and could nt
download to Adam as it always chose my galaxy . It was very frustrating .
Now Im trying to download from playstore(amongst other places) onto my Adam tablet
and the only device I can choose is my Galaxy , i cant download to my tablet . Even though
my galaxy is turned off and im using a friends wifi internet . Adam tablet still will only give
me the Galaxy as an option to download to
I ve been at this off and on for many months now, i ve googled it to death and have been through
every android setting i know of .

Can some kind folk please advise me on this ?

    Thanks

check your dpi setting on your display. Google Play store will not recognize your device as compatible if your dpi settings are odd. Try setting it to 160 or 120 and then check to see if it becomes an option on the play store.

Look on Google Play for DPI changer or LCD Density Modder. Is your Adam rooted? Which Rom do you have installed?

That's odd. Usually changing resolution will affect compatibility for games, but it should download some. What exactly does the error message say?
Just thought of something-you might have a really old version of the playstore, and maybe that's the problem. Use a browser on the tablet, google for "playstore apk", download and install it, and see what happens.

    Tnx mate

I havent figured how to change the resolution yet

I have went to the playstore page it self , on my tablet i only have a market shortcut / widget . It does nt work there either

I have went directly to playstore in my tablet browser , and also logged in with my newly created google ID

What happens is when i try to download something , a small little message I can barely see , appears near top of

page , saying no device .

Id like to get this working , but if worse is the outcome , is there some place to go where I can get the free programs/games

etc. as an apk , and I ll side load it myself

    Cheers

    PS

Exact message is " you dont have any devices " directly under the install and add to wish list option of any game/app i choose to install

    Cheers

I really think you should try to find a new version of the playstore and install that. Here is a link to a site you can download from-
    http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/08...more-teardown/

Another option is the amazon appstore apk, download and install that from here-

This is because even though you made a Google account, your playstore on the device isn't linked to it. You need to try a new playstore apk version, and use your new Google account to activate it.
